Vaudezilla was born in 2008 when solo Chicago burlesque performer Red Hot Annie teamed up with
Keith Emroll (aka Dick Dijon) to put their more than 20 years of combined theatrical production experience
to work producing burlesque shows. Their goal? To bring a more theatrical style to the Chicago burlesque
scene and to provide more opportunities for the Chicago burlesque community at large to perform and increase
its visibility.
Going on four years later, Vaudezilla has accomplished that goal in spades. They have produced well over
200 shows in that time at over a dozen different venues throughout the city, including their regular monthly
bar shows "BROADZILLA!" and "Lincoln Fair." In addition to the bar shows, Vaudezilla also created "Rollin'
Outta Here Naked: A Big Lebowski Burlesque," which stood in 2009 and 2010 as a critically-acclaimed, nationally
recognized, box office smash hit. Staying true to its theatrical roots, Vaudezilla has ushered in 2012 with a
new rotating monthly production at Stage 773's cabaret stage, which features live band burlesque shows, story-based
burlesque theater, and specialty shows such as "Jeezy's Juke Joint: A Black Burly-Q Revue."
Their role as co-creators (along with Belmont Burlesque) and current executive producers of the annual Windy City
Burlesque Fest has helped raise Chicago 's national profile and cemented its status as a premiere burlesque destination.
Spurred on by a desire to keep the Chicago scene vital and injected with new talent, they officially opened Vaudezilla
Studios in April 2011, providing an affordable venue where performers of all stripes can rehearse, teach, and perfect
the craft of whatever artistic pursuit they have chosen.
Vaudezilla's unflagging commitment to excellence, strengthened by the Herculean efforts of the entire Vaudezilla team,
solidifies their placement at the top of the Chicago burlesque scene.
